Carolyn is now in peace.

1970 ~ 2009

At 3pm on April 23, 2009, Carolyn was set free from the suffering of this world, with her Mother & brother, Uncle & Aunt by her side.

The past two and a half year has been such a physical and emotional roller coaster for Carolyn, her family, her friends,  and everyone who became part of her life during this time.

Miracles happened when there were seemingly no hopes.  Dreams were dashed when they were the only chance you’ve got.  Friends were made.  Lives were saved.

Its over now.  And Carolyn is now at a better place.

Funeral will take place in Vancouver, Canada on May 7th.  If you would like to attend, please RSVP by clicking here for funeral detail, or visit www.SaveCarolyn.com in the coming week.

For most of you who will not be able to attend, please do this for Carolyn one last time by forwarding the following link to five close friends, and making sure everyone of them become a bone marrow donor.

Sincerely,

Family of Carolyn Tam

  1. Hi there,

I’m sorry to hear this about Carolyn. I was thinking of starting up a similar online site for my two-year-old niece who needs to find a bone marrow donor desperately. Thank you for inspiring me.

  3. Jie Jie,

Happy Birthday. We miss you so so much. Mama and I went to the Big Buddha today as a small trip to remember you. We talked a lot and she had a good time. Ronie & I bought your favorite chinese dessert from Moon Kee for you and we gathered around your picture in my study room and had the dessert together as your little birthday party.

Miss hearing your voice. Hope you are having a good time yourself, wherever you are.

    Love,
    Patrick

    • As she left and said goodbye, she would very much wanted you and your mum to know that hope on earth had diverted her in making heaven a better place to live in. She had gone forever but her heart tells us that her love for you and your mum continues to live on everyday.

  7. Hi Carolyn,

I know you’re enjoying your time with God the Father, angels and saints in Heaven, celebrating your birthday and every moment with the presence of God! I know you’re praying for your mother, brother, family and friends, and passionate to those who are suffering in this temporary world.

You’re an angel sent on earth to inspire people surrounding you. Even in your illness when you’re sick. You impressed so many people and made a lot of Chinese people aware of the stem cell donation program which will save a lot of lives.

We all miss you and we are looking forward to join you in Heaven.

    Thank you Carolyn!
    Teresa

  10. Hi there,

I’m so sorry to hear about Carolyn’s passing. Two years ago, I signed up for OneMatch after watching a news report on Carolyn’s story. Despite her illness, she appeared so full of positive spirit. I was deeply touched by her bravery, to this day, I had been wishing for her recovery…

Thanks so much for sharing such a beautiful life with us. If there is a purpose for life, Carolyn, you have fulfilled yours. Please leave the rest to us, and we will do whatever we can to help those in need.

    Cathy

  17. Hi Carolyn!
Hope that you are happy whereever you may be. My thoughts have been with you over the past year… Two weeks ago, I rode my bicycle from Vancouver to Seattle to raise money for the BC Cancer Foundation. It was a long long ride, and physically tiring, but really inspirational to see so many people committed to conquering and ending cancer. I rode in honour of you, and my grandpas, and raised over $5,000! We have missed you!
    Love,
    Joming

  18. Hey you,
Been thinking about you a lot lately and regret I didn’t get a chance to say goodbye. I hurt you once, long ago… and I am so sorry. Words aren’t enough, but I’m trying to make up for it in other ways. I trust you know that.
    Keep smiling Carolyn…
    Me

  19. 姐姐,

Yesterday my son Sean Sze Hon Tam was born. We took the names 公公 came up with that were originally for you. Everyone likes it. It sounds like Sean, and we have always liked the name Sean anyway, thus Sean Sze Hon Tam.

I wonder if you already know Sean, perhaps you have something to do with his birth, and introduced him to Ronie and I!!

I miss you so much during this special moment of our lives. I can imagine you would get Sean the most tasteful gift, and i can see the freak out look on your face when you hold tiny Sean for the first time. He is only 6lb 10oz at birth, and he is so tiny!

    You are now a 大姑媽!

I miss you always. Please look after my growing family from above, and take care of everyone I care about, and I pray for health & happiness for everyone, and for strength & clarity for those who are weak.

    Love,
    Bro

  20. Happy birthday to Carolyn

  21. 姐姐,

Happy birthday. We all miss you a lot, even Sean!
Mama picked today to return to Vancouver. You could tell from her face that she really didn’t want to leave Sean. She said she would stop by the temple right after she lands in Vancouver.
Have to go now, need to give Sean a shower!
Happy birthday again. I miss you so much.

    Love.
    Bro

    • Hey CT…
Not sure what compelled me to check out this site tonight…you certainly have been on my mind a lot lately. I really miss you. I miss our late nights at the office together. I miss meeting you at the Starbucks at young and eglinton. I miss seeing your coffee cup filled with cold green tea in your car. I miss the coffee runs to Timmy’s (your half coffee/half hot chocolate beverage). I just miss you! Im sure you know all the stuff ive been dealing with on the home front. Thank you for watching over him. He’s doing great right now and I just pray it stays this way. Both Patrick and your mom have offered great support but I have been trying so hard not to be a burden on anyone… Anywoo, you take care and be well!!! Thinking of you always!!!

  26. Rest in peace.your an angel now watching over someone.god needed you to do miracles.the wind is you.tell my mom I’m trying to behave myself.

Wow, it has been three years already. So fast, yet so long ago. Where are you now? Are you happy? I hope you will always be as happy as the year you were in remission. We are happy too, and we have no excuse not to be, cuz we are all healthy. We miss you a lot though.
